One-click.
VERSIONING FOR PREMIERE PRO.
Never lose track of your latest sequences or projects again. VersionUp handles versioning, renaming and archiving – so you stay in the edit.
How it works
Three seconds. Then get back to work.
01
Version up in one click
02
Auto Archive old sequences
The previous versions are renamed to match and filed into their own bins automatically. They're not deleted, they're not in your way — they're just where they should be.
03
Focus on your live edit.
The sequence you're working on is the sequence you can see. That's the whole point.
The panel reads the version number already in your project name and takes it to the next one. No Save As dialog, no typing, no chance of a typo.
One-click Versioning
Whether it’s one or 99, VersionUp finds the version number in your sequence and saves the next one – v04 becomes v05.
No dialog box, no retyping, no accidentally saving over the thing you just spent a day on.
Approve to Masters
Client signs off? One click moves approved sequences to a dedicated Masters folder, automatically renamed and colour labelled – ready for delivery.
No digging through bins to find what's final.
Project versioning
Increment and rename your .prproj file in one click. Always working from the latest version, no manual Save As required.
Wrong-version protection
Never cut on v04 again.
You receive a warning if you’re working on an old sequence. Live looks live. Archived looks archived.
Smart-Naming
Your names. Your rules. Set the pattern once. It follows yours, not ours.
VersionUp reads your sequence settings (client, dimensions, time) and names everything automatically.
Put VersionUp in
your Premiere panel.
Get hours back every week.

That's the idea. You set the pattern — separators, zero padding, suffixes, whatever you already use — and Version up follows it. It doesn't rename your existing work to fit some house style.
-
They're renamed to match the version they belong to and moved into archive bins in the same project. Nothing is deleted. You can always go back.
-
Yes. That's a large part of why it exists. Old versions stay intact and properly labelled, so returning to v04 after notes is a two-minute job instead of an archaeology project.
-
No. It’s yours to keep, free updates.

Works on Mac and Windows. Compatible with Premiere Pro 25.6.0. and later.

## VersionUp 0.86.0
The first release.
- Version up a sequence in one click — the old copy is archived and the sequence in your timeline is renamed in place, so your open tab never changes
- Version up twenty sequences at once by selecting them in the Project panel
- Archived copies keep your folder structure instead of being flattened into one pile
- Mark the cut a client signed off, with its own bin, colour and `_MASTER` name
- Version the `.prproj` file itself, with the target filename shown on the button before you press it
- An amber banner when you have opened an old version by mistake, with a jump to the latest
- Alt-click any button to see exactly what it would do without doing it
- A short tour on first run, replayable any time from ☰ → Tips & tour
- Bin names, label colours and naming patterns are all yours to change
- The panel tells you when a new version is out, and never nags about one you have waved away
Install: double-click `VersionUp.ccx` — Creative Cloud does the rest. Restart Premiere, then Window → UXP Plugins → VersionUp. Paste your licence key into ☰ → About / Licence.
