It isn't finished, and I'm not giving a date until I can hit it. Trace — the free panel — ships first. Put your name down and you'll hear the day this one lands.

Your whole project,
in one click.
Trace+ reads your entire project, not just an individual clip. See everything you’ve used and have left on the cutting floor in one click.
Remove Unused looks at sequences. Your project is not a sequence.
It doesn't know about the subclip whose master is sitting in a bin, the clip that only lives inside a nest, or the interview you imported twice under two names. And it can't tell you what any of it weighs — sixty unused stills and one unused ProRes master are the same row count and a thousand times apart on disk.
Unused
What you've stopped using. And what it weighs.
In gigabytes, not file counts. Subclips whose masters sit in a bin, clips that only exist inside a nest, the same interview imported twice under two names — all counted, all measured.
Archive
One press into _UNUSED.
Nothing leaves your disk and nothing is deleted — it's a bin move, and one Cmd-Z undoes it. It refuses to archive anything that's on a timeline. Not warns. Refuses.
Sequence view
Every clip in this cut, and how hard it works.
Switch to the open sequence and see what's in it, how much of each clip you actually used, what's offline and what's flagged. Sort by the column you care about.
| Clip | Used ▾ | Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Interview_A_Take3.mov | 3m 12s | 9 |
| Broll_Factory.mov | 1m 04s | 3 |
| Aerial_Drone_02.mov | 22s | 1 |
| Music_Cue_01.wav | 2m 40s | 2 |
Coverage
You shot forty minutes. You used ninety seconds.
Per clip and across the cut, so you can see the rushes you're carrying for one line of sync — before you archive the drive rather than after.
The ladder
Start free. Step up when the project does.
Trace+ is a strict superset — everything in the free panel still works, in the same place, under the same name. Press the other one and watch what changes.
Project panel.
Trace answers about one clip you picked. Trace+ answers about the project, with nothing selected.

Good questions
Everything else
When is it out?
I'm aiming for a September/October 2026 release. Between now and then I'm adding some amazing features for you and bug-testing ahead of it with the beta group. Stay tuned in your inbox!
Can I use something now?
Yes — Trace is out and free. It answers about one clip: where is this used, select every use, follow it into nests. Trace+ is the same panel answering about the whole project.
Do I need Trace as well?
No. Trace+ is a strict superset — everything the free panel does is in here, in the same place, under the same name.
What do I need to run it?
Premiere Pro 25.6 or newer, on macOS or Windows. Same as Trace.
The difference
Trace answers about a clip. Trace+ answers about the project.
Clips you have to select
Trace+ reads every bin, every timeline and every nest with nothing selected at all. You do not have to know which clip to ask about.
Trace answers about the one clip you clicked. Not file counts
Unused media measured in gigabytes, including the subclip whose master sits in a bin and the interview imported twice under two names.
Trace counts uses. It never weighs anything.Press to file it away
Everything unused into a _UNUSED bin in one action, and back out the day you need it. It refuses to touch anything on a timeline.
Trace selects clips. It never moves one.Be first to see it.
Be first in line for the release.
