Terms and Conditions

NK Courses — Terms of Use, Licence and Refund Policy

‍ ‍

These terms apply to everything sold by NK Courses ("NKC"): courses, coaching, portfolio reviews, and software such as VersionUp.

‍ ‍

Some sections apply only to one kind of purchase. Where that's the case, it says so at the start of the section.‍ ‍

Disclosures and disclaimers

‍ ‍

This section applies to courses and coaching.

‍ ‍

NK Courses is designed to help you through the difficult process of finding more freelance clients. As the law requires me to say plainly: I cannot and do not guarantee that you will get results or earn money from my ideas, information, programmes or strategies.

‍ ‍

I have worked hard for my own results and I can't guarantee you're willing to put in the same work. Nothing on this website, in any email, or in any testimonial is a promise or guarantee of future earnings. Any figures mentioned anywhere are estimates, projections or past results — illustrative only, not exact, and not a promise. Testimonials are not typical results; they show what the most motivated people have achieved, and shouldn't be read as a measure of what you will earn.

‍ ‍

Please do your own due diligence, with your own professional advisers, before buying anything. By using this site you accept that you are responsible for your own purchasing decisions.

‍ ‍

NK Courses is not a school or college. It provides no educational credits, degrees or certificates, and nothing it offers can be used towards any formal qualification.

‍ ‍

If you are not willing to accept that, please don't buy.

‍ ‍

1. Agreement

‍ ‍

By using this website or buying anything from NKC, you agree to these terms and to all applicable laws and regulations.

‍ ‍

If you don't agree with them, please don't use this site or buy anything on it.

‍ ‍

2. Licence — courses and downloadable material

‍ ‍

This section applies to courses, coaching materials, worksheets, templates and free downloads. For software, see Section 3.

‍ ‍

You are granted permission to download one copy of NKC course and download material for your own personal use. This is a licence to use it, not a transfer of ownership. Under this licence you may not:

‍ ‍

  1. modify or copy the materials;

  2. resell them, or use them to deliver competing paid training;

  3. display them publicly;

  4. remove any copyright, trademark or other notice;

  5. transfer them to another person, or host them on any other server or service.

‍ ‍

This licence ends automatically if you break these restrictions, and may be ended by NKC at any time. When it ends, you must delete any downloaded material you hold, electronic or printed.

‍ ‍

3. Licence — software

‍ ‍

This section applies to VersionUp and any other software sold by NKC.

‍ ‍

When you buy NKC software you are buying a licence to use it, not ownership. The software remains the intellectual property of NK Courses. Your licence is personal to you and cannot be transferred, resold or shared.

‍ ‍

3.1 What you may do

‍ ‍

  • Use the software on your own work, commercially and personally. It is a professional tool and it is sold to be used on paid client work.

  • Install and activate it on two machines — a desktop and a laptop, for example.

  • Use it on as many projects, for as many clients, for as long as you like.

  • Move a seat to a different computer. Press Remove in the panel on the old machine first, and the seat frees up.

  • Receive updates at no extra cost.

‍ ‍

3.2 What you may not do

‍ ‍

Not in whole, and not in part:

‍ ‍

  • Share, send, give away, resell, sub-licence, rent or lend the software, its installer, or your licence key.

  • Upload or post it anywhere — websites, forums, cloud drives, file-sharing services, torrents, marketplaces or plugin repositories.

  • Include it in another product, template, preset pack, course or toolkit, paid or free.

  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source of any part of it, except where the law says that right cannot be restricted.

  • Remove or change any copyright, authorship or licensing notice.

‍ ‍

One purchase covers one person and their two machines. A colleague needs their own licence.

‍ ‍

3.3 Teams and studios

‍ ‍

For more than two seats, or a licence in a company name, email info@nkcourses.co.uk.

‍ ‍

3.4 If this licence is broken

‍ ‍

Sharing or redistributing NKC software breaches this licence and infringes copyright. Doing so ends your right to use it, without refund, and may expose you to legal action including a claim for damages, an injunction, and recovery of legal costs.

‍ ‍

3.5 Requirements

‍ ‍

VersionUp requires Adobe Premiere Pro 25.6 or newer, on macOS or Windows. It cannot run on earlier versions. Please check yours (Premiere Pro → About Premiere Pro) before buying.

‍ ‍

3.6 What the software sends

‍ ‍

Nothing about you. VersionUp checks a small public file once a day to see whether a newer version exists, and contacts Lemon Squeezy only when you activate or remove a licence key. It does not send your project names, your files, or any usage data anywhere.

‍ ‍

4. Refunds

‍ ‍

Courses and coaching are refundable. Software is not. They are different things and the rules below reflect that.

‍ ‍

4.1 Courses, coaching and portfolio reviews

‍ ‍

If you're not satisfied with a course or coaching you've paid for, you're entitled to a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Email info@nkcourses.co.uk with your request and a brief explanation of why. NKC will make it as painless as possible.

‍ ‍

4.2 Software

‍ ‍

Software such as VersionUp is a digital product, delivered immediately after purchase.

‍ ‍

By completing your purchase you agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that, once the download and licence key have been issued, the 14-day right to cancel no longer applies. For that reason software purchases are non-refundable.

‍ ‍

4.3 This does not affect your legal rights

‍ ‍

If software is faulty, doesn't work as described, or can't be made to work on a supported system, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — repair, replacement or a refund. That right cannot be signed away and nothing above limits it.

‍ ‍

4.4 Before you buy software, check two things

‍ ‍

Most problems are one of these, and both are avoidable:

‍ ‍

  • Does your Premiere meet the requirement? VersionUp needs Premiere Pro 25.6 or newer. If you're below that it will not install. Check under Premiere Pro → About Premiere Pro.

  • Is it the right tool for what you need? The product page lists exactly what it does. If you're unsure, email me before buying and I'll tell you honestly whether it will help.

‍ ‍

4.5 Something not working?

‍ ‍

Email info@nkcourses.co.uk before anything else. Most issues are a short answer, and I would much rather fix it than leave you with something you can't use.

‍ ‍

Software purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Where a refund is due it is issued through them, and normally reaches your original payment method within 5–10 working days.

‍ ‍

5. No warranty

‍ ‍

Materials and software supplied by NKC are provided "as is". NKC makes no warranties, express or implied, about their results, viability or fitness, and disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

‍ ‍

NKC does not warrant that its materials are accurate, complete or current, and may change them at any time without notice.

‍ ‍

Software specifically: VersionUp modifies your Premiere Pro projects — it renames, moves and duplicates sequences, and it can save a new project file. Every action except project versioning can be undone with Cmd/Ctrl+Z. Project versioning writes a file and cannot be undone.

‍ ‍

You are responsible for your own backups. Please test it on a copy of a project before using it on work that matters.

‍ ‍

6. Limitation of liability

‍ ‍

To the extent permitted by law, NKC is not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption arising from the use of, or inability to use, its materials, training or software.

‍ ‍

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

‍ ‍

7. Errors and changes

‍ ‍

Material on this website may contain technical, typographical or photographic errors. NKC may correct or change anything on the site at any time without notice, and does not commit to keeping it updated.

‍ ‍

NKC may revise these terms at any time. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published at the time you bought. Continuing to use the site means accepting the current version.

‍ ‍

8. Links to other sites

‍ ‍

NKC has not reviewed every site it links to and isn't responsible for their content. A link is not an endorsement. Following one is at your own risk.

‍ ‍

9. Our relationship

‍ ‍

You are a customer and licensee. Buying from NKC does not make you an employee, partner or agent, and brings no employment benefits of any kind. Anyone you share access with — staff, family, associates — is bound by the same terms, and see Section 3.2 on sharing software.

‍ ‍

10. Competing training

‍ ‍

This section applies to courses and coaching only. It does not apply to software purchases.

‍ ‍

You may not use NKC's course materials to build and sell competing paid training for two years after purchase.

‍ ‍

This does not stop you using what you learn to run your own video or freelance business — that is the entire point of the course. It stops you repackaging NKC's material as your own training product.

‍ ‍

11. Enforcement

‍ ‍

If NKC has to enforce a breach of these terms, it may recover reasonable legal fees and court costs.

‍ ‍

12. Emails and your data

‍ ‍

Service emails. When you buy something, you'll receive emails about that purchase — your receipt, your licence key, download links, and notices about updates or problems affecting what you bought. These are part of providing the product.

‍ ‍

Marketing emails. Newsletters, offers and new-product announcements are opt-in. You can subscribe on this site, and unsubscribe from any of them at any time using the link in the footer of every email.

‍ ‍

Advertising audiences. NKC does not share your email address with advertising platforms for audience-building without your consent.

‍ ‍

For how your data is stored and used, see the privacy information on this site. To ask what NKC holds about you, or to have it deleted, email info@nkcourses.co.uk.

‍ ‍

13. Governing law

‍ ‍

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.

‍ ‍

Who you're buying from

‍ ‍

NK Courses [ADDRESS — 🔴 fill this in; UK distance-selling rules require a geographic address ] info@nkcourses.co.uk

‍ ‍

Software purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record and are the seller for those transactions.

‍ ‍

By buying from NK Courses you agree to these terms. If you're unsure about any of them, please ask before you buy, or take your own legal advice.

‍ ‍

Thank you for your business.
